Your voice is recorded live using your device microphone and transcribed by an ME (Modified Evaluator). Accuracy depends heavily on audio quality. Before starting:
✅ Go somewhere silent — no fans, traffic, or TV in the background.
✅ Avoid rooms that echo (Hall ways, empty halls, public space).
✅ Speak directly into your device microphone.
✅ Keep your device steady — don't muffle the mic.
⚠️ Poor audio quality may reduce your score. No refunds are issued due to self-submitted low-quality recordings.Speak all 12 tenses — use your 3 attempts wisely
Say "I write a letter" in all 12 English tenses within each attempt. After each attempt you will see your score and a detailed tense-by-tense breakdown. You may then choose to:
✅ Proceed for Submission — if satisfied with your score.
🔄 Try the Next Attempt — to improve your score.
Each attempt consumes one of your 3 credits whether or not you submit. On your third and final attempt, your score is automatically submitted — you cannot discard it.

After submission you are redirected to the Dashboard. Click the LEADERBOARD button to see how you rank against all participants. Leaderboard positions are determined by accuracy score — updated in real time after every submission.

Each payment of ₹129.00 (all taxes and convenience charges inclusive) unlocks 3 attempts for the AngLo Voice Tense Test. Attempts are valid for 2 hours only. However, each attempt is consumed the moment you start recording, regardless of whether you submit that attempt.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
All payments are non-refundable once the Razorpay checkout is initiated, regardless of whether you complete the test, achieve a passing score, or use any attempts. This applies even if you close the browser or lose internet connectivity mid-session.
Exception: If your payment is deducted but attempts are not credited to your account, contact us within 48 hours with your Razorpay Payment ID. We will investigate and resolve it promptly. This is the only scenario in which a refund or credit may be considered.
How billing works
This is a one-time payment — there are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or hidden fees. Once all 3 attempts for a session are used, a fresh payment of ₹129.00 is required to unlock 3 more attempts. Unused attempts from one payment cannot be carried over, transferred to another account, or exchanged for any other service.
Secure payments by Razorpay
All transactions are processed by Razorpay — a PCI DSS Compliant Payment Gateway. Your card, UPI, or banking details are never stored on AngLo's servers. You will receive a payment confirmation from Razorpay to your registered email address.
UPI / Net Banking payment delays
If you pay via UPI or Net Banking, your bank may redirect you outside the browser. On returning, our system automatically polls Razorpay for up to 10 seconds to confirm your payment. If your attempts are not credited immediately, wait 2–3 minutes and refresh the page before contacting support — the delay is usually on the bank's side, not ours.
Attempts are consumed on recording start
An attempt is consumed as soon as you click "Start Speaking" and recording begins. Closing the browser, losing internet, or stopping the recording before speaking does not restore the attempt. Plan accordingly — ensure a stable connection and quiet environment before starting.
How scoring works
Your speech is transcribed by our Modifed Evaluator and compared against the 12 correct tense forms of "I write a letter." Each tense is scored independently using word-overlap similarity. A tense is counted as matched if it scores 100%. Your final accuracy is the average score across all 12 tenses.
Recording time limits
Recording stops automatically if 2.5 seconds of silence is detected after you finish speaking, or after a maximum of 90 seconds — whichever comes first. You may also stop manually at any time. Speak at a natural pace; do not rush.
Final submission is irreversible
Once you click "Proceed for Submission", your score is permanently recorded and cannot be changed, disputed, or re-evaluated. On your third attempt, submission is automatic — there is no option to discard the result. Ensure you are ready before beginning your final attempt.
Leaderboard scoring
Your leaderboard position reflects your most recently submitted score for the current payment session. Scores are ranked by accuracy percentage in descending order. In case of equal accuracy, the earlier submission ranks higher. AngLo reserves the right to remove any entry from the leaderboard if cheating or policy violations are detected.
Microphone access is required
The test requires your browser to have microphone access. If you deny microphone permission, recording will fail and the attempt will be lost. Please grant microphone access when prompted by your browser. AngLo does not control browser permissions.
Stable internet connection required
Your audio is uploaded to our server after recording. A stable internet connection is required. If the upload fails due to poor connectivity, the attempt is consumed but the result may not be saved. We recommend using Wi-Fi or a strong mobile data connection (4G/5G) rather than a weak signal.
Audio quality affects your score
Audio is converted to 16 kHz mono WAV and processed through noise filtering before transcription. However, heavy background noise, echoes, or muffled speech can reduce ME transcription accuracy and therefore your score. AngLo will not adjust or re-evaluate scores due to self-submitted poor-quality audio.
Supported browsers
The test uses the browser's MediaRecorder API and records in WebM format.
Use a modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari 14.1+.
Older browsers or browsers without WebM support may fail to record. AngLo is not responsible
for technical failures caused by unsupported browsers.
What data we collect
We collect and store: your name, email, mobile number, state, and city (provided at registration); your audio recording (uploaded after each attempt);
How we use your data
Your data is used solely for: evaluating your competition submission; displaying your name, city, and state on the leaderboard; verifying payment and crediting attempts; and resolving support queries. We do not sell, share, or market your data to third parties.
Audio recording storage
Audio files uploaded during the test are stored on our server. They are used exclusively for ME (Modified Evaluator) and are not shared with any third party. By submitting an audio recording, you grant AngLo a non-exclusive license to process and evaluate that recording for competition purposes.
Leaderboard visibility
Your name, city, state, accuracy score, matched tenses, and submission time are visible to all participants and visitors on the public leaderboard. By completing the test, you consent to this public display. Your email and mobile number are never shown publicly.
One account per person
Students in grades 2–12 are eligible to enter the competition. Each participant may hold only one account. Creating multiple accounts to gain additional attempts or leaderboard entries is strictly prohibited. AngLo uses email address as the unique account identifier. Registering with a different email to circumvent this policy is a violation.
Prohibited conduct
The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification:
❌ Submitting another person's voice recording.
❌ Using audio editing software to manipulate your recording.
❌ Using text-to-speech tools instead of your own voice.
❌ Accessing or attempting to access another user's session or data.
❌ Interfering with the server, payment system, or scoring pipeline.
❌ Attempting to replay or resend previously recorded audio files.
Disqualification & access revocation
AngLo reserves the right to disqualify any participant, remove their leaderboard entry, and revoke access without refund if misuse, policy violations, or fraudulent activity is detected. Decisions made by AngLo regarding disqualification are final.
Login credentials & session security
Login is performed using your registered email and mobile number — no password is required. You are responsible for keeping your registered credentials confidential. Sessions expire when you log out or your browser session ends.
Evaluated by our Modified Evaluator
All scoring is performed by an automated Modified Evaluator. Our Modified Evaluator will correctly transcribe every accent, dialect, or speaking style. Scores produced by the automated system.
Changes to these terms
AngLo reserves the right to update these Terms and Policies at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page with the updated effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the Laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
